What is « PPMS » ?
« PPMS » - “Individual Security Plan” in English – governs the protection of citizens in public establishments and allows the implementation of safeguard measures for students and staff while awaiting the arrival of emergency services or a return to normal.Schools and public establishments can be confronted with major incidents, whether natural (storms, floods, earthquakes...), technological (massive power cuts, explosions...), or specific emergency situations (intrusion by outsiders, attacks...) that can cause serious damage to people and property.
The PPMS is an internal organization plan put in place and triggered by the headteacher or the school principal to protect staff and students from the effects of a major incident.
Based on the the analysis of major risks identified on the territory of the municipality, it sets out a certain number of simple measures to ensure the safety of the occupants (containment or evacuation) and the autonomy of the school until the arrival of the emergency services.
Composed collectively, the PPMS assigns to each staff member a precise role according to their abilities.
